compulsion
You know you really have to blog when you: -
- Should really be doing something else more important (like working for which you are paid)
- Have a very important exam coming in on you (like the last exam of your graduation)
- You don't care anyway and would like to see some traffic from search engine
- and you are going to optimize it for keywords in some distant future when you figure out which keywords can be related to a random-ish personal blog
- and you should stop bulleting your points because they are not really point any more but whhaddaheck i'm going to bullet them anyway because I am lazy... so I am just going to hit enter now
- and get another bullet and might I mention that this is quite fun so anyway where was I oh yeah i was talking about the things i should be doing but instead I am blogging so yeah i am juts going on without any punctuation whatsoever but i thought i would try a stream and so I am doing so .. soo ... sooo ... okay time to end this.

I believe I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. Been doing similar things. You'll feel the results on your feed reader presently, and it won't be pretty!
